if you can read this message, it means you've taken a little extra time, or you've gotten lucky, or you have some insight that I haven't foreseen, or perhaps that you've asked me what is new, i mean really new, about this website. this. this is new. what does it mean? simple. you don't see everything. it isn't all before your eyes. deal with it. deal with your limitations. define yourself as much by what you don't know as you do by what you do know. because there is a helluva' lot more of the former than the latter. god, this one's a nod to you. and johnny cash. . . yeah, him too.

the particularly new dance: ladies and gents, the fact of the matter is that i have had to start over on the dissertation proposal. i won't go into details, but there it is. "angst." that said, i am almost done with my new proposal, and wow, its a doozee. i mean, dig this title: on the explanation and prediction of radical, extraordinary politics: after structural and institional explanations. damn, skippy! you can experience it in three, equally exciting ways. in the first place you can check out the executive summary, which is short. alternatively, you can check out the "official" version, which is longer, but lacks a full literature review. finally, you can paste your eyes to the full version, which includes a literature review. i know, you're already downloading them all. if you're interested in sources, well, then check out these - first, a collection of the 1990s CIA World Factbook entries on Botswana, and then the same sort of summary, though for Namibia - and who can forget the relevant bibliography (my Excel jonx is here and here). more legalistic in your bent? how about a comparison of namibia and botswana's constitutions? whoopee!
